Although it was my third char (first two being sin and Ele) my Ranger is still one of my favorite chars. I like her appearance, and on a gameplay perspective she's also my character with the highest titles and elite armors.

The archer archetype has also been my role of choice in MMOs. Although the GW Ranger "plays" differently, even more so after these updates, from a RP/immersion point of view it still fits the bill.

Because the bow and arrow is my favorite alltime weapon. I think rangers can do more than mesmers can, not just interrupt .. but do a little of everything! Deal damage, interrupt, spread conditions -and- survive for a good amount of time in battles. Survivability i think is one of the rangers strongest points in battle.

Also, this is because i love rangers ^^ Vanquished the zaishen vanquish challenge moments ago with this almost pure ranger team, almost like a dream come true xp :

I think I like the Ranger because its not a class that everyone in the game can play well. Sure, anyone can run splinter-barrage and complete the pve campaigns, but there are very few players who can run anything else and be successful. I've spent over 3 years on my Ranger perfecting every little detail of their mechanics, and now there's plenty of things I can do with my ranger that I find other professions have a hard time doing.
Its fun when you can do things that you know most people can't. And playing the Ranger is just one big "most-people-can't".

Rangers will always be my favourite, despite the fact that they're are woefully underrated by the population at large, and are in dire need of a dervish/mesmer-esque Anet "revamp"...

The best part about a ranger is the roleplaying aspect of them (and this might sound a bit geeky but whatever...) like, I love the lore behind ranger chars, behind nature rituals and beast masters, and surviving out in the wilderness. When I play with my other chars a mission just feels like a grind, spamming the same skills with the same "OMGLEET" metagame build over and over.
But on my ranger I can just go out do some dungeons, some vanq'ing, and all because it fits in with that character's storyling and ultimate her "personality". She's an adventurer, a survivor and a plunderer, so it makes perfect sense for her to go around the wilderness kicking ass, looting and living off the land.

I just love it. I don't think any other profession has a background that's so absorbing and so appealing.

That's right. Rangers aren't bad. They're just misunderstood, and because Ranger builds tend not to be C - Space- 1 - 2 - 3 - Dead most people think Rangers suck. They are not hamfisted Wammos. They are artists, spreading fear along with their conditions and frustration with their interrupts (WTF? STOP THAT!) and they are usually the last left standing. Bloodied but unbeaten.

That is why i love my Ranger.
